Arrow walkers hit goal

16 Jul 2024

INTREPID adventurers have raised more than $82,000 for the BDO Arrow Experience – supporting the Donate for DaNi campaign.
The annual walk of the arrow trails of Mt Whitfield exceeded its $80,000 goal, despite less than perfect weather for the event on Sunday, July 7.
Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation Fundraising and Marketing Manager Glenys Duncombe said more than 75 people aged from four to 74 participated in two or four of the arrows.
“It has taken us one step closer to achieving that $4.3 million target – we are almost at $2 million, and we will get there. The community knows this project will make a big difference to many surgical patients in the region,” Ms Duncombe said.
“It started off drizzling but there were blue skies for most of it,” she said.
Money was raised via team sponsorship, donations and major raffles.
She paid tribute to sponsors BDO Nth Qld, Coral Expeditions which donated a $42, 000 cruise to raffle, Status Plus which donated a $15, 000 package to raffle, as well as FGF, Audi Centre Cairns, Avis Car Rental and Star 102.7 Cairns.
