Gifts in Wills

We understand that including the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation in your will is a big decision, and family always comes first. But if you do choose to leave a gift, know that it’s one of the most meaningful ways to make a lasting impact on future generations and ensure that your memory lives on.
Your support will help improve health care services across our 66 regional public hospitals and health care centres. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a real difference.
You can leave a gift for general charitable purposes, allowing us to direct it where it’s most needed, or choose a specific department or cause close to your heart.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to support us in this way—it helps us continue the vital work we do, now and into the future.
Preparing Your Will
When preparing your will, take some time to consider how you’d like to bequeath your gift. You might also want to let your family and loved ones know about your decision to leave a gift in your will. While this is a personal choice, we recommend you make them aware of your wishes.
To get your will in order, reach out to a solicitor or wills professional to guide you through the process.
If you’d like to let us know that you’ve included the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation in your will, please call Glenys Duncombe on (07) 4226 6327. We’d love the opportunity to thank you and acknowledge your incredible support.
Or, if you have any questions, you can enquire in confidence via email to Glenys at glenys.duncombe@fnqhf.org.au, or call her on (07) 4226 6327.
The Type of Gift in Will You Might Want to Consider

There are several ways you can leave a gift in your will:
- Residual gift:
A share or the whole of what’s left of your estate after taking care of family, friends, taxes, and any outstanding debts.
- Percentage of your estate:
A portion of the total value of your estate, which adjusts if the value of your estate grows or decreases over time.
- Specified sum of cash:
A set amount of money, though this option doesn’t account for inflation or changes in your financial situation.
- Gift of assets:
You can also leave real estate, stocks, bonds, shares, artwork, jewellery, or other valuable items.
Each type of gift helps us continue our important work in improving health care for everyone in FNQ.
