Have you always lived in FNQ? If not, where did you come from and how long have you been here: I was born in Italy, came to Australia when I was 30 and have lived the rest of my life in FNQ.
What Is Your Volunteer role: I am part of the craft ladies group.
When did you start volunteering with us? Since 2010.
How did you come to start volunteering with us: Through my friend, who was a part of the FNQ Volunteers.
Star sign: Aries.
Interest, hobbies, past-times: crocheting, sewing and playing with my dachsunds.
Tell us about your family – kids, grandkids, great grandkids? I have one daughter and one granddaughter.
What do you do with yourself when you are not helping us? Go out to lunch with friends or be with my family.
What do you enjoy about volunteering with us? It is rewarding. I love being able to help the hospital and my community.
What’s the most rewarding part of volunteering: Seeing how the money raised helps the hospital.
If you could describe your volunteering experience in three words, what would they be: Rewarding, fulfilling, friendship.
How has volunteering impacted your life: Gives me purpose, brings me joy and friends.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about volunteering: Do it, you won’t be sorry. It is as rewarding for you as for the Foundation.
