CELEBRATING 25 years of giving, the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation hosted an anniversary ball with an incredible coming together of clinicians and the business community.
Foundation CEO Gina Hogan, Chairman Dr Ken Chapman and members of the board were joined by 340 glammed up guests for the sold out event at the Pullman Cairns International.
"It was so wonderful – it was better than I could've even imagined," Mrs Hogan said.
The night was a celebration of the Foundation's achievements in the past 25 years, of telling stories of success, but also fundraising.
A huge array of raffles and auctions donated by sponsors such as Coral Expeditions and Integrated Medical Services, help generate funds raissed of more than $150,000.
Mrs Hogan said the Foundation would never rest on its laurels and was already planning its next project.
"The anniversary gives a sense of real pride in the community, what we've achieved and what we continue to do," she said.
"We cover from Tully to the Torres Strait and we are unique in that proceeds from our commercial activities underpin everything we do. That means every cent donated to us, goes where it's intended."
