Williamson steps into role

14 Jan 2020

Well known Cairns business dynamo Tony Williamson is bringing his energetic expertise to the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation.
Mr Williamson has joined the Foundation as interim CEO, after Tony Franz resigned, wishing to explore new opportunities.
With his extensive background in local business, both in real estate and accounting, Mr Williamson said he was eager to step in and assist the Foundation in its great work, since the sale of RE/MAX Real Estate Cairns in October 2019.
Foundation chairman Dr Ken Chapman said the Foundation board wished Mr Franz well and thanked him for his almost 16 years of dedicated service. “In his time as CEO, the Foundation has developed into the region’s leading charity making a major contribution to health care across the North,” Dr Chapman said.
Mr Williamson said he was excited to help steer the Foundation into its next phase of development and growth. “I have always been a supporter of the Foundation and being a proud Cairns local, I am happy to give back to the community.”
Having recently been named as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Mr Williamson will continue his roles as a consultant to RE/MAX Cairns, Non-Executive Director of Qld Country Credit Union and as the Chairman of the Kenfrost Homes Northern Pride Rugby League Team.
