Non-Executive Volunteer Director – Expression of Interest 

The Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation is a non-profit charitable organisation dedicated to supporting the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, as well as the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. The Foundation’s reach extends from Tully to the Torres Strait. Through its commercial activities, all administrative costs are covered, ensuring that every dollar donated goes directly to where it is intended. Since the Foundation’s inception, more than $28 million has been contributed to improving health care in the Far North.

Superior Health Care in Far North Queensland 

Purpose 
Working together with our community and health services to improve care in Far North Queensland.  

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for a voluntary non-executive director position on our board. At this time, we are specifically looking to appoint a candidate with one of the following skill sets: 

  • Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or equivalent financial expertise, or 
  • A research-focused clinician with strong links to health service improvement. 

The ideal candidate will bring a clear understanding of the not-for-profit environment, coupled with the ability to contribute to strategic growth, governance, and community impact. 

The Board meets eight times per year and is supported by three sub-committees providing oversight across high-risk and high-impact areas of the organisation.

  • Governance & Stewardship 
  • Compliance & Risk Management
