Cup breaks records

14 Mar 2023

A record-breaking $55,000 was raised in a few short hours at the Nu Nu Restaurant annual Melbourne Cup fundraising lunch.
It was certainly a case of shining bright like a neon sign at the five-star event, which smashed all previous records in the now 19 years it has been held.
The 2022 final tally means the event has now raised more than $305,000 for the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation.
Extra special thanks to auctioneer Rod Brennan (and his amazing wife Rhonda), Bluey Forsyth for the amazing race commentary, Two Tribes for the incredible styling, TEA LILY for Fashions on the Deck, the amazing The Diamond Hunter, Mount Mulligan Lodge, Westco BMW, Skytrans, Belle Property Escapes, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas Cairns Transport, Luxury Limousines, Lizard Island Resort, Cape York Motorcycle Adventures, The Emporium Lyons Gallery Port Douglas, KL Performance Industry, Electric Dreams, Threadless Films, Final Touch Productions, Simon George, Kevin Murphy, Devils Thumb Distillery, Lancemore Lindenderry Red Hill, Exemplar Coaches & Limousines Silver Cup Trophies, Sharon Bucknall, our volunteers, the entire Nu Nu Restaurant team and the many, many, many, many sponsors.
