Sekisui digs deep

2 Feb 2023

Sekisui Foam Australia is the leading Australian manufacturer of polyolefin foam thermal insulation for the Construction & HVAC industries.
Based in Sydney, the company has dug deep to support cancer patients in the Far North Queensland region with a $15,000 donation to the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre.
North Queensland Sales Manager, Gary Haydon’s partner sadly lost her life to melanoma a few months ago after a two-year battle.
Mr Haydon explained that every Christmas, Sekisui Foam Australia makes a significant donation to a chosen charity or foundation within Australia.
“Our Head Office has fully supported both me and my family and I thank them for providing me with the opportunity to nominate the Foundation this year. As a fellow cyclist I also follow the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation and recognise the hard work they do each year through various events and most notably the Cardiac Challenge Cairns to Cooktown charity ride,” Mr Haydon said.
Sekisui Sales and Marketing Manager Phil Cocking said the company’s donation was offered with compassion for, and appreciation of, every person associated with the Foundation and the Liz Plummer Cancer Care Centre.
“Thank you to all the volunteers that help enable the Foundation to wonderfully support health services across Far North Queensland,” Mr Cocking said.
Foundation CEO Gina Hogan thanked Mr Haydon and Sekisui Foam for their generous support.
“This money means we can do something real and tangible to make a difference to patients well into the future. We’re working with the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service on their list of equipment that will enable us to ‘put the icing on the cake’,” Mrs Hogan said.
“We want the very best outcomes for patients in the Far North and by us working with the health service on the equipment that will make a difference, we’re working towards that goal,” she said.
