Give the gift of health

3 Dec 2021

Are you stuck for Christmas gift ideas for that hard-to-buy-for person in your life?
The Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation has come up with an exciting new campaign to bring Far North residents new medical equipment and services.
Foundation Acting CEO Joe Cristaldi said the campaign allows people to donate to the Foundation and receive a Christmas e-gift card they can share with their special person to let them know they have “Given the Gift of Health” this year.
“We know it’s been a difficult year for lots of people and there has been a big focus on health which of course is our focus as well,” Mr Cristaldi said.
“With this campaign we’ve instigated, people can make a donation as large or small as they like and get a double-whammy feel good. They’re giving someone special a gift and they’re giving someone the gift of health,” he said.
“It’s also a great opportunity for corporates to show their clients they appreciate their support. Gift hampers are lovely but we have a lot of community-spirited businesses in Cairns and this is a great way for them to show their customers they support them by supporting health care in the Far North.”
“Because of the Foundation’s commercial operations, all our administrative costs are covered which means every cent donated to us, truly goes where it’s intended. That’s very rare in the charity sector so we’re very lucky to have a charity like this on our doorstep.”
