The Far North Hospital Foundation is the most prominent local charity in the Cairns region and raises funds to improve equipment and facilities at the Cairns Hospital and the other regional hospitals. We exist to achieve our vision of superior health care in Far North Queensland.
In addition to fundraising, we operate two cafes, vending machines, and the car park at the Cairns Hospital. These business units generate the revenue to cover all costs and expenses of the Foundation, so every dollar donated goes directly to the cause intended and further allows us to continue to provide volunteer services ranging from the information desks to patient support in paediatrics, cardiology, and geriatrics.
